My #1 Fan

Okay, yes, so I do know some of the designers from Trading Spaces would not agree with a ceiling fan. But, I have one. One I have been wanting for years. Many years. I had one that blew about 10 years ago. It didn't really seem too important until a year or two ago. Due to having the roof replaced earlier this year after ALL the rain we received last year, we had to fix our ceiling in the livingroom also. We had them remove the textured mess and just paint. They did a great job. SOOOOO, I had them replace the ceiling fan as well as the 2 other light fixtures in the room.

Excuse the mediocre pictures, but notice the track lighting in front of the fireplace. It looks so much better than what we had before. I always think of the movie Steel Magnolia's when I see or hear "track lighting".
Hubby and I had been discussing how I wanted to change the furniture around once this job was completed. We came home on Friday evening and the two fellas had put the furniture back to the best of their recollection. Wasn't quite the same, but I absolutely like it. I emailed one of them and told him how happy they made me. There must be something to Feng Shui. I've about talked the hubby into getting a new crown molding to finish the room and get rid of the other stuff. We'll see. I'll keep my fingers crossed and look for a part time job.

Remember when I told you we went to the Gypsy Caravan in St. Louis? This is one of my finds, the birdcage. It's a little primitive. It's a little uneven. It's perfectly me. I love it. I love even more that I only paid $8. I've thought about placing a fern and/or a pretty little fake bird in it. Reynaldo has already checked it out.

I'll try to get better pictures tomorrow. Today the two fellas finished what they needed to complete and I put things back together. We are simplifying somewhat and I feel the need to have a yard sale. Dreading even the thought of it, it still needs to happen. Hey, maybe that's how I can earn my crown molding!!

I love the bird cage!!! And yeah, fans are da bomb. I have one here in my room for the first time ever. I love it.. You are a hoot.. yeah, I do remember that wild ride through the streets. I took that header photo the morning my tire blew on the way to school... Isn't it moody? Hugs..

We have ceiling fans in most of our bedrooms, the kitchen and the living room...I love them. They were here when we purchased the house and sometimes they are my sanity. It gets so hot in the kitchen...even with air conditioning. That fan gets a workout!

Your living room looks great!
I love track lighting. We have it in our family room pointed at the built in bookshelves and a painting.

Cute birdcage...great price!

I don't know what we would do without our ceiling fans. We have them in almost every room of the house and one on the back porch. There are fans in every room at the lake and two on the deck. I don't care what anyone says on HGTV...this old lady has to have the air circulating. I even have a stand fan and a ceiling fan in our room!!LOL The only place we don't have a fan is over the dining tables and stoves. I like your new fan!

Oh and another HGTV no no I don't pay attention to is their idea of faux flowers! I have those too!;-)

I also like your birdcage. I wanted to go to the Gypsy Caravan, but my kids talked me out of it!

PS Show picks when you get done rearranging and what a great way to buy crown molding:)

It looks great. That birdcage is gorgeous. I would love to be going to any place where I could look at used stuff.

We are opting for ceiling fan hook-ups in almost every room, including the back patio, in the new house. I am sure my husband will be overjoyed at having to purchase and hang them all. I figure it will be a slow process, since fans aren't cheap. This will give him time to adjust, as he has always hated the looks of fans. I have always hated the electric bill, and am hoping fans will save money.

We have ceiling fans in every room and keep them all running on low year-round (we just turn the blades from down to up with the change of the seasons). We're so used to them that it's really seems weird if one isn't running...

Hi Lisa....love the birdcage too!! and I couldn't live without ceiling fans...We have them in every room of the house except for the kitchen...they run year round...I also have track lighting in the kitchen...are those two things an HGTV No No....?? I took your advise and changed those two pictures of Miss B and her father into black and white....they look terrific especially the profile one of her.....Thanks for the suggestion.....Sue.

I have ceiling fans in my home and I love them dearly...they shall not be taken away! I think crown molding will be a perfect addition to your home! I finally installed some in my house and it is amazing how much detail it adds! The birdcage is beautiful too! Happy remodeling!
