Fern Babies

Mom hung 2 ferns on her front porch about a month ago. They looked beautiful. Then she realized she had a visitor who seemed to be busy making a nest.

Last weekend she found these babies. She asked me to take pictures week by week, but I didn't get the first week.

It's amazing how much they change in a matter of 7 days.

There are 4 of them. I pulled a chair up to get a picture. After a lot of noise from up above, I finally left them alone.

Here's mama. She was so upset that I was sneaking a peak of her babies. Mama watched me intently and waited for me to leave. We aren't sure if mom's fern is gonna make it or not, but these babies are safe.

I love the photos, Lisa!

A Wren has built a nest in the big birdhouse on the back porch. This is her second year, in this house. She was in a smaller one two years ago. J put it out last year, but the lady chose the big fancy house. She sits on the hooks, on the porch rail, we use for hummingbird feeders. She's out there talking, right now. She really gives us what for, when we have meals on the back porch!!!

I have a wren in my wreath on the front door. I think it is nasty, though, I have to clean up bird poop daily off the door.

You got some great pictures! I have a nest I am watching in a plant right beside my front porch. They are just fascinating! They also don't like me to get too close! :-)

Great pictures! We have a nest of birds in our chimney.. I'd rather have them outside in a fern...
