A Surprise

On Saturday I received a great surprise in the mail. A primitive Santa from Kim at Simple Needs. He's right up my alley Kim and thank you so much for drawing my name!! I snapped this pic right out of the box. I'll take another one once I finish the perfect place for him to sit and watch all the Christmas happenings!!

When I was playing with my camera the other day I took a picture of one of my many snowman ornies. I bought him at Target about 5-7 years ago. His little face is so very sweet. He inspired me. He inspired me to make a feeble attempt at painting him on a piece of wood. Remember it's a feeble attempt. Needless to say, I haven't painted much since.

This is more like a snow-ghost rather than snowman. The tree is impressive you have to admit. I should've focused on it. I just realized tonight I did not paint a halo for him. The ornie has a halo of grapevine and berries. Oh well. If only I was as creative as I pretend to be...

WOW! I'm impressed!! You're really good :)

I just finished catching up with you and I was so sorry to read about Lacey Littlefeet. I hope your mom and dad are okay. I know how hard it is to lose one of those sweet furry babies.

You are better than me in the painting department, for sure.

I think you really did get his sweetness, even though he kind of resembles Casper the friendly Snowman! (I'm teasing)

Thanks for the heads up on Twilight. Funny enough, I am reading it now. Go figure.

Faces are tough! You did very well on his sweet smile. And those cheeks...who wouldn't want to pinch them?

That Santa will be a fun addition to your Christmas...

It looks great to me! And yes, the tree is wonderful. Who says you can;t add the wreath and pip berries now, if you want?
Congrats on your cute Santa!

I love the primitive santa, Lisa. I have a snowman on the youth chair in the breakfast room I made many a long year ago. His coat is made from a ragged quilt I bought at a sale, in a box of junk. I think boxes of junk at auctions hold many hidden treasures. The santa on top of the black cabinet is from an open house, at a shop, in Bowling Green several years ago. His coat is an old quilt too. I love those kinds of figures! Your primitive santa speaks to me.

I also love the painting of your snowman!!
