Goodnight Lacey Littlefeet

Lacey Littlefeet
1995-2008
Dear Lacey, I remember the day I picked you up to introduce you to your new human family. I wasn't sure what your new parents would think. You were a little bigger, a lot more bull, and a little shy. Mom and Dad came to my house to pick you up. You jumped in their car like you owned it and licked dad's glasses. I knew from that moment he'd found a friend for life. Literally. You have brought so much joy, a little frustration, and so much love to our family. God couldn't have given a better gift to mom and dad. You fit right in. One memory of you is the night mom brought you over to play with Frankie Beans. Mom and I decided to go out for a bite to eat leaving you two canines alone in a cozy little house. When we arrived home finding the curtains torn off ALL the livingroom windows, cushions off the couch and pillows strung all over we did not know what to think. But, you guys were happy. Wagging your tails and smiling from ear to ear. It was a free ticket to Disneyland. You went home quite content while Frankie Beans watched me clean up a HUGE mess. Mom laughed pulling out of the driveway. I saw her. Really, that was a great doggie day. Playing with Frankie, colliding in the air while playing chase was always a hoot. You two were the best of friends. Not only that, you were a best friend to my dad who absolutely adored you. He put your picture up in his office and bragged to all his friends. And just how many miles have you walked with mom in all these years? Your little paws could walk and walk. Trash day was the greatest wasn't it? You just had to pee on every trash bag you walked by didn't you? Your friendship to Mom in the past 2 years alone has not gone unnoticed. You were there when she needed you most. You'll never be replaced my furry little friend. This morning was a morning I will never forget. I was blessed to have been with you. We have been blessed to know you.
We will always love you. Our Lacey Littlefeet.
Love Your Human Sister, Lisa D.

Journey to the MarketPlace

Hello everyone. Mom and I made a journey to the MarketPlace in Columbia today. Neither one of us have been there for ages. We couldn't get over how much stuff was tucked away inside this store. It was fun to get away and just browse through all the goodies.

There was a nice little nursery on the South side of the building so we went there first. Then we went into the side door where we were greeted by Roxie. Bless her heart. She was laying on a rug asleep in front of her owner's booth. The owner told us Roxie is 21 years old. Can you imagine? Roxie is blind and losing her hearing. I asked her owner if I could take her picture, "of course" she replied. She was quite proud to tell everyone Roxie's age. There were lots of hats and vintage dresses. Mom loved looking at the old clothes. I LOVE this High Boy Dresser. I really wanted to take it home in the worst way!! I love Quartersawn wood. There were plenty of shelves. This one has a twin. I could very easily brought those home. Along with this picture. This fram and the picture itself absolutely beautiful. I have the perfect place for it, I really do!!Dishes, there were plenty of dishes. Mom and I both have a huge fetish for pretty dishes. This set I loved. Tiny pink roses shaped into a flower or star. They are gorgeous.Although these are not old, they are definitely eye candy to us. We both ooed and awed over these pretties. As well as these. Very pretty, so was rooster in the middle. He's proud. I love roosters and chickens. This guy had the scenic view standing atop a huge cabinet. I think he was checking out the babes down below. Hopefully he didn't spot these two:A little out of the ordinary, but they were hanging out with all the other fowl in the area. Notice the big chick in the background. I think they were her bodyguards, they just didn't quite fit in...Some more comic relief. Mom got really tickled over this little fella. I think he reminded her of someone she knows.Something about this whole area just made me want to sit down a spell and have a class of iced tea. I loved everything about this booth.

It's been a long time since we've been to this store and it was a real treat for us today. Maybe next time we won't wait so long to go back. I could've taken a ton more pictures, but I got too busy browsing, I forgot about the camera. We did a little shopping at the mall and Hobby Lobby. I wanted to go through Shelter Gardens, but they were having a wedding. Maybe next time. So instead we went to the Lowe's and Home Depot to check out their nursery blooms. Well, I'm pooped. We had a fun, long afternoon. Time to hit the hay!!

The Pooper Puker Picker Upper

This is me in a bit. I have to go get a carpet shampooer. Kia got sick in the night and pooped and puked in splotches on my livingroom carpet. This carpet isn't even a year old yet. Oh well, it could be worse right? I just tried calling my boss, I'll be late or have to take a whole personal day. If I'm going to do it I might as well do it right huh? My bedroom carpet needs shampooed anyway, along with my kitchen. Looks like a busy day ahead. My hubby takes personal days to golf, this just doesn't seem fair. Where's the love? I'd really rather be working.

SingSong: "My Mutts, My Mutts, MyMuttsMyMuttsMyMutts

I think we've known one another long enough, it's time to meet the family. I'll start with the Mutts, the girls. I'll introduce my hubby another time. He'll have to be in his element, it's getting close, it will be soon. I'll let you know when I'm ready.
So here we are: Kia on the left and Annie on the right. Kia aka: KiKi or Keeks and Annie aka: Annie Peanut or Annie P. Since I don't have children, these two are my spoiled rotten girls. Annie was spotted at a Wal-Mart Parking Lot Special Give Away. She truly thinks the parking lot is her home. We made one trip back to Wal-Mart after I lugged her home in October, 2003, and she took off. Ran, ran the parking lot like a mad raccoon. She had to be looking for someone to take her back to her real family, I dunno, we haven't taken her back to Wal-Mart since. I'm afraid one of these days she'll hitch a ride back to the Wal-Mart Parking Lot Special Give Away locale.
Kia was adopted after my beloved Boxer, Frankie Beans passed. It was June, 2004, my hubby read an ad in the local paper about some puppies being found, a very giving lady wanted to make sure they didn't go to bad homes. I called, she was very nice. She found 4 puppies in the ditch. They had been starved, possibly beaten and were a mess. She took them all to the vet and they were doing well. Kia was suppose to be part Shar-Pei and part Mastiff. I couldn't imagine. Look at her, does she look like part Shar-Pei part Mastiff? I don't think so. Lab I would dare to guess. The nice lady brought the puppy out for us to see. She was mostly bald with little patches of wannabe hair. "Good Grief" I thought to myself. She stunk, looked a mess. After a few pleasantries I kindly told the lady that my hubby and I would take a quick ride, discuss it and let her know. "We'll take her!" my hubby said proudly as if he wasn't going to get his bid in. "Good Grief" I channeled Charlie Brown. I couldn't fathom this bald, naked puppy thriving in our home, never growing hair, being in her naked splendor for the rest of her dog days. She'd be the mutt butt of bad jokes from all the neighborhood dogs. They'd be rolling in their grassy yards, hooping it up when we'd walk by for our nightly strolls. After my hubby made his surprising announcement, Kia licked my face and the nice lady cried. Kia found her way home...
